If you are starting over, this would be a really good time to wipe the data folder, validate your game files, and re-clean you masters.
Then start fresh using Vortex. It will make your life easier in the long run not to have loose files dumped in the data folder from old builds And feel free to visit the farts anytime, you're always welcome.

Personally I installed it once Vortex , I saw how much complex and buggy was, and removed it and never cared again about it. I did shift to Vortex early and found a lot of issues in the beginning. I did what I always do, if having trouble sorting issues in a new program I ceased using it.
I reopened it for returning to SSE and it has improved dramatically. Jus' sayin'. I have to laugh at myself every time I begin this process for modding Skyrim. Even then you will likely screw up I still do. My opinion is if you don't plan to spend hundreds or thousands of hours with the game modded, just use a mod manager.
I will give a few pieces of advice. Never use the ingame mod manager for anything but creation club content. Here is another In the Plugins file there is invisable field between mods that can exasperate manually enabling mods.
You can tell where it is by arrow keying past it it will take two presses to get to the next character. Never let anything copy over your XP32 Skeliton files if you install it. It's not scary or impossible, it just takes dedication, reading up on the mod pages and knowing what you are doing and when. The machines do it faster and some say more reliably. I just feel better doing it myself.
